Sunset Cliffs my Santa Cruz

Went to Ocean Beach and Sunset Cliffs today, my second time ever, but felt like my first. I saw it with new eyes, abandoned my ill preconceived notions, and took it in. If I ever feel homesick for Santa Cruz and West Cliff, you'll find me on Sunset Cliffs.

Americans love heroism so much if there’s none to be found we will make one up. Not just Hollywood but the national media is churning out everyday heroes every day.  There’s nothing wrong with that, heroes prove fairy tales can be true. A reason for hope perhaps, but we often forget the best fiction is made from non-fiction, even the Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast. Mythical creatures are often utilized to separate reality from fantasy and yet these “fantastic” stories are based on humanity’s version of good versus bad. The purely magical yet scientifically stable process of changing the state of matter is of course not new but still shape-shiftingly neat and we are still learning the basics, apparently.
